Theoretical training for the new type rating
In the theoretical phase of the training, our flight instructors will familiarise you with the specific systems, aerodynamics, performance parameters and special features of each helicopter type. This knowledge is crucial in order to operate the aircraft efficiently and safely.
Practical training for the new type rating
The practical training takes place directly in the cockpit. Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you will familiarise yourself with the special flight characteristics and handling of the new helicopter type during the legally required flight hours. This includes
- Take-off and landing techniques
- Flight manoeuvres and handling under different conditions
- Emergency procedures specific to the helicopter type
- Operation of on-board systems and instruments
This will be followed by a Practical examination The final test is carried out by a certified examiner, during which you demonstrate the skills you have learnt on the new helicopter.
